USS Day (DE-225) was a Rudderow -class destroyer escort in the United States Navy during World War II. Francis Daniel Day was born on 25 July 1904 in Milburn, New Jersey. He enlisted in the Navy on 12 January 1925 and served continuously until his death on the USS Oklahoma during the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.

On Dec. 7, 1941, Day was assigned to the battleship USS Oklahoma (BB-37), which was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft.
