This version of the Saul Bass colours lowered the cheatline to accommodate much larger UNITED titles. It suited the new Boeing 737-300s, 757s and 747-400s well but in my opinion looked less impressive on the older 727s and DC-10s.

Dec 16, 2020 · The battleship grey livery was striking and bold when it was first revealed in 1993, but it did not age well. Apart from the dark paint fading (and peeling). it felt stuffy and got dated very quickly.

Sep 5, 2020 · There is no better livery on the 747 than the British Airways Landor grey livery. United is close second. My favorite livery on one of my favorite aircraft. I used to have a scale model of this... The only prettier livery than UA grey is AA bare metal.
