Sep 3, 2005 · My 940 Turbo (4 cyl automatic) *was* working great ... until I brought it home from the seller's house Apparently the car would start then when at the stop sign, it died and would not start again. The car turns over and I was told it is likely the fuel injector relay (button, switch, or whatever it is). Any ideas on how to replace/repair it?

Oct 27, 2019 · The Volvo turbo engines do not have a "flame trap" but do have an oil breather. The oil breather is a black box located under your intake manifold and can be checked by attaching a length of fuel line hose and blowing into it. If you are unable to blow through the breather is most likely clogged

Aug 21, 2006 · For the engine dying, it may be the fuel relay. In the spring mine (1994 940 Turbo wagon) did the same thing yours did and died multiple times on both interstate and secondary roads. I replaced the fuel relay myself in my driveway with a new unit from Volvo ($50) and ~20-30 minutes of time, mainly disassembly and reassembly of the center console.
