Oct 10, 2010 · I had used Wix filters for over two decades. At the time the build quality was second to none. After M+H got their hands on Wix everything went downhill fast. I now hold a grudge on all M+H made filters and will not use them. I will say like others, that many brands are showing sloppy craftsmanship now. I inspect every filter I buy.

You are way-overthinking the need for top filtering. You can get a long lifetime of vehicle use using Wix filters. We have members here using low-level Proline oil filters and have 432K miles on the vehicle.

Jan 4, 2016 · Have always used the regular Wix oil filters with good success. Is there much difference in filtering capabilities and the amount of dirt the XP will hold opposed to the regular filter. Also, any issues with the XP being restrictive in terms of good oil pressure? Thank You in advance. Good success shouldn't be messed with in my opinion.

Jan 18, 2009 · the protec is a wix "B" filter, same construction, same quality, only difference is the burst pressure rating is like 325psi vs 470 for the actual Wix. We sell them and they are very popular for the price as well as zero problems/no warranties with them.

Jun 5, 2008 · Recently purchased 6 wix oil filters off rockauto, one of the filter seems to have the antidrain valve crushed between the housing when it was manufactured. Anyone else come across issues with wix brand, I always thought it was a higher quality brand and it surprised me to find issue like this.

Apr 27, 2010 · The vast majority of canister/spin on type Wix label/Napa Gold, XP/Platinum oil filters are made in the US. Those filters are the ones most talked about on bitog. Some/many of the cartridges are made in China, same as Fram and others.

Jul 6, 2020 · Another thing about the WIX/NAPA Gold filters with the base end bypass is that there is only a thin area of just metal-to-metal contact where it seals on the filter cartridge end cap. Could be why their efficiency is in the 95% @ 20u point. Motorcraft filters with the base end bypass have a better sealing design IMO. Good observation.

May 14, 2014 · The cheaper wix filters use a rubber adbv but they last 7-10 k before falling apart.. Good to use in spring/summer and into fall but come fall/winter I use a filter with the silicone adbv.. Napa and carquest also carry the wix brand.
