The M19 Mortar is a light, smoothbore, muzzle-loading, high-angle-of-fire weapon for light infantry support developed and produced in the United States. It has been replaced in service by the more modern 60 mm M224 mortar, which has a much longer range and improved ammunition.

The M-19 Maschinengranatwerfer is a German 50 mm mortar which was used during World War II. The mortar was developed in 1934 for the purpose of defending permanent military bases. It had a maximum rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute and a range of 750 metres.
The mortars are smooth-bore, muzzle-loading, high angle-of fire weapons. The 60-mm mortar M2 and the 81-mm mortars M1 and M29 consist of a tube and base cap containing a fixed firing pin.
