Jan 9, 2015 · Long story short, I had to abandon my waders stuck about thigh deep in pluff mud and climb up the ladder. I could not pull them out after I got out of them either. I tied them to the dock and am headed back out there at high tide tomorrow in hopes that tide will break the suction.

Mar 26, 2023 · chest waders, and keep the straps as tight as you can bear over your shoulders. That way you can pull your boots out leaning forward and using your weight if you get stuck.

Jul 1, 2019 · always try and get flat on your back, not your front, firstly its easier trying to get waders / wellies off when on your back, and secondly it seems far easier to try and scoop yourself back to where you have just come off the safe ground, rather than lay on your front and get further away from the patch of sh 1t you are trying to get out of.

Nov 18, 2013 · I just recently bought the wading stick from Mojo. It has an orange, tulip shaped, bulb towards the bottom. It is meant to help you walk in muddy areas. I used it on the Texas coast this past weekend and it worked great. As far as your foot pulling out i use the Orvis breathable bootfoot waders, but the boots have laces to provide a snugger fit.
