So why does it seem like the Era is the black sheep of vans? it gets the least color ways and is slowly getting less versions as well.

Jun 22, 2022 · The Era is literally the same shoe as the Authentic with a padded collar and extra canvas stitched on the heel for reinforcement (thanks to Alva and Peralta for their collaboration with the Van Dorens).

The Vans Era is constructed with a suede upper and a vulcanized rubber sole. The Authentic is made with a canvas upper and the signature Vans waffle sole. Both shoes feature a classic lace-up style and are available in a variety of colors and patterns.

Era Vans provide good arch and ankle support due to their extra padding. Some styles, like the comfy cush Era, have added arch support for flat feet. Certain styles of authentic Vans have better arch support than others.

Era Wide More volume in the upper and midsole due to the larger shape and the outsole is consistent with our regular width shoe. Wide sizes are equivalent to an EE.
