Aug 23, 2021 · Gyro and Gon are in essence the anti-thesis of the other yet they share some similarities; In other words they are two sides of the same coin. Gon has been paralleled with a lot of villains in the series like Hisoka, Uvogin, Meruem, and etc. but Gyro seems to be the one that will play the most prevalent role in Gon's potential character arc.

I assumed that Gyro was Meruem because they shared a lot in common personality-wise, Gyro's appearance is kept a mystery, Gyro's whereabouts and fate are also kept a mystery (from what I recall), and considering where the episode was placed within the season ...

Jun 19, 2023 · HxH has always been rich with political and social commentary, and Meteor City is an ideal environment for storytelling along those lines. I definitely don't think that Togashi has forgotten about Gyro.

How "strong" Gyro might be is completely irrelevant, it's his brain and charisma as a leader. Togashi spend about a chapter to show his backstory, the chance that it was for nothing, is very slim, I for one think Togashi is a good writer. Welfin and co. are searching for him, hinting that he will indeed comback somehow.
