The XrossMediaBar (pronounced "cross-media bar" and officially abbreviated as XMB) is a graphical user interface developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. The interface features icons that are spread horizontally across the screen.

The PS3™ system includes a user interface called XMB™ (XrossMediaBar). The horizontal row shows system features in categories, and the vertical column shows items that can be performed under each category.

XMB was the default user interface for RetroArch, until it was succeeded by Ozone in RetroArch 1.7.6. It is based on Sony's "cross-media bar" GUI, most widely known from the PSP and PlayStation 3. The top-level menus and playlists are displayed in a single "primary" row, running from left to right.

This is a User Interface for the PS2 resembling the PS3/PSP XMB Style developed by HiroTex, made on Athena Env' by DanielSant0s, and inspired by the XtremeEliteBoot+ dashboard by Howling Wolf & Chelsea.

Jan 5, 2022 · Recently the PS3 XMB (XrossMediaBar), the PS3's user interface, started (partially) working in RPCS3. As of yet you can't launch games from the XMB and only PSN games show up. I expect full functionality will be implemented in future updates.
