Post-DTD, you can take an XML document and validate it with XSD or RELAX NG or some other mechanism - they are decoupled (in theory at least). Any XSD link is only a hint and is optional. It is not possible to validate an arbitrary document .

The XML stream are different data sets and there is a XSD which is available which I have also parsed int he same way. Now, my question is can I create a parser using the XSD schema? I am new to XML in this way, but I have found examples where the parser object was generated using the XSD then the XML was read in accordingly.

Feb 13, 2014 · If the element does not occur at all, there should be a default value for this parameter. Of course I could define this default value in my code, which calls the XML parser. But I think the correct place to specify the default value would be in the *.xsd schema file (since the default value is part of the interface defined by the schema).
