He was named All Korean Champion in his division. In addition, he took 4th place in the World Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1968, Master Chung was awarded the prestigious honor of “Athlete of the Year” in Korea and in 1969 was the Collegiate Grand Champion of Korea in the open weight division.
