Zeiss 50mm f/1.5 ZM Review - KenRockwell.com
The Zeiss 50mm f/1.5 Sonnar ZM excels in being smaller, shorter and lighter than other 50mm f/1.4 lenses. It doesn't block the finder, as do other 50mm f/1.4 lenses. It has no visible distortion, but it's not the lens for people who are counting pixels wide open.
Carl Zeiss C-Sonnar T* 50mm f1.5 ZM: A Detailed Review
Oct 12, 2018 · It focuses from .9 metres to infinity in about 85 degrees, with a beautifully damped helicoid. The focusing ring is made of metal, and is ribbed in a way which makes it very easy to find and grip. The aperture ring is a nice metal ring at the front of the lens, and stops down from f1.5 to f22 in 1/3 stop increments, with a very precise click.

The C Sonnar T*1.5/50 ZM lens is the modern technolo-gical reincarnation of the classical Sonnar 1.5/50, the fastest standard lens of its time, for the Contax II range-finder camera. It is fast, very resistant to flaring and unusually compact. With its well controlled distortion, the lens produces a very accurate representation of objects.
