The Brokkr-1 refinery demonstration mission successfully launched on April 15, 2023, with the goal of validating AstroForge's full-system engineering team, flight-testing critical subsystems in preparation for deep space, and, finally, extracting platinum from an asteroid simulant.

From the day we started AstroForge, our goal has been the same – to unlock a cost-effective and sustainable mining solution that replenishes resources and safeguards our planet's future. It's been an eventful few years for our team.

With our newfound learnings from Mission 1, the AstroForge team performed a deep review of each system, rigorously comparing the as-built components to their design schematics and validation procedures.

Less than a year later, the AstroForge initial demonstration flight is readying for launch! In 2023, we’re embarking on two important missions: a refinery demonstration that puts our tech to the test in space and a deep space expedition to observe one of our target asteroids.
