Aug 24, 2024 · When I access BBC iPlayer on either my HDR recorder or my Blu-ray player, there is a banner informing that iPlayer will no longer be available 'on this device' from 30th October 2024. I much prefer to watch iPlayer material on either of those devices, because I can feed the audio signal through my amplifier and then to my headphones.

Jan 29, 2025 · When I try to sign in to the BBC iplayer app on my Sky Q box it will not generate a code or QR code for the iplayer sign-in site. It just sits with a spinning circle. I have tried the following with no success: Reset by holding power button. Reset by disconnecting power. All 3 resets in the hidden settings menu. App refresh from the hidden menu

Dec 17, 2024 · The BBC catch up is still available on Sky and I prefer to use it rather than the BBC iPlayer, just due to fast-forward and rewind is so clunky on iPlayer whereas on the catch-up it's just like a regular recording and you can navigate it with ease.

Feb 6, 2024 · Had a 'We notice you've been using iPlayer' email from TV Licensing. I don't have a TV License as the majority of what I watch is on Netflix/Prime/Now/etc. TV isn't even connected to an aerial and I don't use iPlayer, but according to the email their 'records show [I've] used BBC iPlayer on a number of occasions over recent weeks.' and that I need to buy a license.

Jan 25, 2025 · My new installation of SKY q is giving a problem only on the BBC iplayer. Whilst watching a stream the screen goes black. The only way to get out of this is to return to the q home screen, reload the iplayer and resume the stream. I am set to 2160 10 bit resolution using a Samsung 48 Oled uhd tv. Is this a bug or is there a way to stop this ...

Jul 4, 2020 · The reality is that the BBC have always had adverts whether it be on TV or iplayer. We just don't realise it because they only advertise their own products, i.e. choice of platforms, radio, services. or products The fact that it's not for a car, washing powder or bank, doesn't make it any less an advert. So your observation comes as no surprise.

Depending on which version of Sky Q box you have you may be able to watch UHD by using the iPlayer app instead of the download option, but only the latest (3rd generation) boxes support iPlayer UHD." Jun 24, 2024 · The BBC News channel and Sky News are on 24 hrs a day both with news tickers at the bottom of the screen not to mention BBC 5 Live, BBC Local Radio and local news on BBC and ITV every evening. Many over 60, including me, still like to have a daily paper and many buy a local evening one.

Dec 22, 2019 · If a person having a cup of tea or coffee (or something much stronger!) in a café or hotel in the UK wishes to access the BBC iPlayer on his or her own laptop, iPad or iPhone and the café/hotel has a TV licence, is that access covered by the café/hotel's TV licence>
