Mar 4, 2012 · In CA you can legally pull doubles and the entire combination can be up to 75ft long as long as each trailer doesn't exceed 28.5ft in length, and the first trailer does not need to be a 5th wheel, provided the combo is being pulled by a tractor-truck. This is straight from the Sac DMV/CHP/DOT guys.

Jan 19, 2011 · After much research it appears that you can in fact tow double in Florida. It appears that the first trailer needs to be a gooseneck/5th wheel style and less then 28' in OAL.

Dec 12, 2015 · Wherever you live, trailers with brakes on one axle are almost certain as common as men with two nipples, so I can't ever imagine a situation where whether they are legal or not would matter. But for safety it's probably better to have two. The way trailer brakes are (shitty), having two doubles your chance of having one working when you need it.

Oct 4, 2006 · Nothing wrong with the W56. You won't likely be breaking the input from the tranny to the t-case anyway. Its the second case that sometimes has problems with broken inputs because the t-case in front of it doubles the torque (and then some), so that is where the 23-spline input is desirable.
