Nov 7, 2016 · In Elantris he is the old begger that helps Sarene smuggle things into Elantris. If I remember correctly he does go by the name Hoid in the text. He also shows up in a new post-credits scene exclusive to the 10th Anniversary Edition.

Hoid spoke to the skaze, and seems to have made some sort of agreement with them hinging on his desire to become an Elantrian with the restoration of Elantris. Hoid disguised himself as a beggar, wrapped in bandages.

In Elantris, Hoid appears as a beggar whom Sarene trusts to bring weapons into New Elantris, but one who will only meet with her at night. Still, she knows that he and his men know where to deliver the boxes she gives them to deploy.

But the person named Hoid in Elantris, Mistborn, and Warbreaker are all the same individual. For the record, this is not a ‘name cameo.’ This is, indeed, the very same person.
