You have an iPhone 12 Mini and you already have one eSIM active (carrier from home country) and therefore the second line (T-Mobile) must be a Physical eSIM for both lines to remain active.

If your iPhone 12 Pro Max model number is A2412 as I'd expect, then it is the dual-SIM model as was referenced above, and does not have and cannot retrofit eSIM.

Jan 3, 2021 · No eSIM in my iPhone 14 pro I bought a Lyca eSIM, tried installing it in my device but it turns out there is no esim option in my phone. I go to settings--> mobile data--> there is just one nano sim option. there is nothing about an esim as compared to my friends who have both nano sim and esim in the mobile data settings.

You can store more than one eSIM in your iPhone, but you can use only one at a time. To switch eSIMs, tap Settings, tap either Cellular or Mobile Data, and then tap the plan you want to use.
