Oct 13, 2023 · Your iPhone is smart and will only take as much as it needs even if it is only a few % of the charger's rating, you should not need to worry about fast or slow charging. If you want to continue using an older USB-A charger/adaptor I know the 10W or 12W units will work, and even lower will probably work but not tested.

Oct 13, 2024 · I agree- first time I have ever been disappointed with a new iPhone purchase. My iPhone 16 doesn’t work with any wireless charger (including my 24 Subaru). It starts charging but stops after 30 seconds. If I pick up the phone and place it back on the wireless charger it will connect and charge but the stop after another 15-30 seconds.

Jun 17, 2023 · Whether you use a 20w or 30w charger will make no difference as the phone regulates the charge. A more powerful charger will provide no benefit whatsoever. But it also won't hurt the phone either, so if you already have a 30w charger, use it. Just don't buy a 30w charger with the hope it will be better, because it won't be better.

Jan 3, 2025 · fast volt charging (only if the charger is made for iPhone) is 9volts dc. if you charge by anything else (likely also 9volts if not a made for fast charging iPhone) would damage your device. in terms of watts then you can likely use an old 5watt iPhone charger but it will likely charge it rather slowly but never damage it
