My current one is R5 1500 with a RX580. Its due for a replacement. I've been waiting for PoE2 to come out but looking around now. There is a pre-built with a RTX3080 and 5800X for $1500 CAD. Pricing out the parts it seems like a really good deal but would it make more sense to wait for a RTX 5060 or something else new from AMD?

Jul 28, 2023 · The 5070/5070 Ti will definitely be at 256bit bus with 16 GB RAM, the 5080 will be 320bit and 20 GB. The 5060 and 5060 Ti will be 192bit 12GB, and the 5050 will of course be the terrible 128bit 8 GB. This is Nvidia we are talking about, only the top end card goes all out, everything below that will be sort-of serviceable / subpar.

You want to wait at least a year for a 5060 or 5070, then that is also fine. A 4070 super or AMD equivilent is also a fine choice to buy right now. Based on past trends, a 5070 will be around a 4080 and a 5060ti will be around a 4070 non super. That is an estimate as since the cards arent out, it is hard for me to predict how good they'll become.

Apr 25, 2024 · What if RTX 5050 will still be at 6gb of vram? And it's possible that 5060 will be too expensive and perhaps not even clearly better. Then you'll just buy older gen and either save money, or get a higher tier gpu, it's a win win, but you still gotta buy one eventually at some point.

Jun 9, 2024 · the rtx 5000 mobile ada card is using an ad103 chip, which is the rtx 4080 chip, which is also the 4090 mobile chip. so the equivalent is a 4080 on desktop or a "4090 mobile", because naming is an even harder scam on mobile. and "4090 mobile" laptops being the fastest "gaming" mobile card are costing a fortune.

Jun 8, 2024 · From a quick glance of the article, the 5060/5070 will have 8GB VRAM. Seems like 5080 will have 12GB and 5090 will have 16GB. As someone who bought a Legion 7 with 3080 16GB on sale at $1,500, I’d definitely hold out 3 more years…

Feb 7, 2024 · I need laptop with a lot of VRAM so RTX 4090 would be perfect, but I can't afford it. RTX 4080 laptop only has 12gb of VRAM, so it's not enough, they are also expensive as well. The only thing I can afford for my needs (gaming and AI) is laptop with RTX 3080 (16gb of VRAM is sweet) which is around $1000.
