Carl Yonker is a Lecturer in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies and a Researcher and the Media Director at the Kantor Center for the Study of European Jewry, both at Tel Aviv University. He is also a freelance contributor to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), where he regularly provides political and economic analysis on Lebanon.

Carl Yonker holds a Ph.D. in Middle East History (2020, Tel Aviv University) and is the author of The Rise and Fall of Greater Syria (2021, De Gruyter). He is the Center's senior researcher, and manages the Center's projects and activities.

The Cotler Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Justice invites candidates to apply for its 2023-2024 Post-Doctoral Fellowship. The duration of the fellowship is six months (November 2023-April 2024), with a potential extension for a period of up to six months.
