Here’s some great video showing Anderson hitting two tough pitches roughly the same height, but inside vs outside. What changes: elbow direction, as well as vertical bat angle and hip hinge slightly to allow him to stay on plan and prevent him from rolling over. What doesn’t change: hips turning hard, belt buckle to the pitcher, back foot kicks back more on the outside pitch (the back foot doesn’t have to do the exact same thing every swing.)
